Dyatlov Pass is a mysterious place located between the Vishersky and Pechora-Ilych nature reserves at the intersection of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Komi Republic and Perm Krai. This nameless pass on the slope of Mount Holatchakhl became famous all over the world in 1959, when the tragic and mysterious death of Igor Dyatlov's ski group took place here. Since that time, scientists and tourists from all over the world have been coming to Dyatlov Pass to unravel the causes of one of the most mysterious tragedies of the XX century.

Dyatlov Pass connects Mount Holatchakhl (1097) with a height of 905, which has no name. At the foot there are two rivers – Lozva and Auspiya, its full-flowing right tributary.

Along the Dyatlov Pass, mountain-taiga routes are often conducted through difficult, but beautiful and mysterious places of the Northern Urals. Along the routes, tourists climb Mount Ortoten, get acquainted with Mount Holotchahl – another mysterious place shrouded in the legends of the indigenous Mansi people. According to local legends, the goddess Sorni-Nai lives here, accepting sacrifices from shamans in the form of birds, animals and even people. The number of victims should always be nine. 9 is a number symbolizing the end of the old and the beginning of a new life cycle for Mansi. The mountain causes mystical horror among the indigenous people of Mansi, because it was on it that shamans made sacrifices to the goddess.
